The Teaching Academy sustains and supports an interdisciplinary community of educators who value the scholarship of teaching and learning while facilitating educator development; improve the efficiency and quality of medical education through collaboration and scholarship; and promote an academic environment that increases the value and impact of educators locally, regionally, and nationally.


Mission and Vision

The mission of the Teaching Academy is to become a community of educators that leads educational innovation and scholarship by promoting faculty members' pursuit of education excellence and scholarship.

There are four tiers of Teaching Academy membership. To become a member, an applicant must submit a portfolio for peer review. Once a member enters the Teaching Academy, they must remain eligible according to the requirements and maintain an active membership.

How to Apply

Applications are accepted twice a year. Application portfolios can be submitted by completing the teaching portfolio which can
be found on the Apply for Membership page. Deadlines for portfolio submission are April 1 and October 1. Protégé applications are considered on a rolling basis.
