  • 13th Annual Vermont AHEC Vermont Geriatrics Conference Recap

    On April 11, 2018, over 150 physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health professionals with an interest in the care of older adults attended the 13th Annual Vermont Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Vermont Geriatrics Conference, which covered practical and innovative approaches to the medical care of older adults.
  • A Med Student and an Educator: Goldberg presents at Community Medical School

    (APRIL 10, 2019) Community Medical School is a health and healthcare focused public lecture series that occurs on the first Tuesday of each month from March through May and September through November. The series, which is designed to share the medical learning experience with community members in and around Vermont, features faculty, staff and student experts from the UVM Larner College of Medicine, the UVM Medical Center, and local community organizations. Last Tuesday, Eli Goldberg, a medical student in the class of 2020 joined panelists A. Evan Eyler, M.D., a UVM professor of psychiatry and family medicine, Kate Jerman, M.P.H., the director of the LGBTQA Center at UVM, and Lola Houston, a UVM standardized patient and Burlington-based relationship coach for a special panel presentation, "Transgender Health & Healthcare: Transitioning to Affirmative Care." The topic is one that Goldberg is an expert on both as a medical student and as a member of the transgender community.

  • Department of Surgery Holds 48th Surgery Senior Major Scientific Program

    On Thursday, March 29, 2018 the University of Vermont Department of Surgery held the 48th Annual Surgery Senior Major Scientific Program in the University of Vermont Medical Center’s Austin Auditorium. At an awards luncheon following the program UVM Larner College of Medicine Class of 2018 students Miles Grunvald, Brianna Spencer, and Samy Ramadan were honored with Senior Surgery Major Awards for their presentations.
  • First-Ever Integrative Pain Management Conference a Success

    “Integrative Pain Management: National Experts, Local Focus,” a first-ever conference presented by UVM Integrative Health, introduced new standards for assessing and treating pain and showed more than 250 participants how research-based therapies including acupuncture, meditation and yoga can help calm the nervous system for better health on Saturday, April 7 at the Dudley H. Davis Student Center.
