Vermont Public Interviews Eappen about UVMHN’s Challenges, Plans for Improving Access to Care

(MARCH 6, 2024) UVMHN CEO and President Sunil Eappen, M.D., M.B.A., associate professor of radiology, spoke with Vermont Edition about some of the challenges of running a not-for-profit health care provider that includes six operating hospitals that serve more than a million patients across Vermont and northern New York.

(MARCH 6, 2024) University of Vermont Health Network (UVMHN) CEO and President Sunil Eappen, M.D., M.B.A., H. James Wallace, M.D., radiation oncology chair at the UVMHN, medical director for cancer clinical programs for the UVM Cancer Center, and associate professor of radiology at the Larner College of Medicine, spoke with Vermont Edition about some of his challenges and plans surrounding access to care, including attracting a talented workforce of doctors and nurses, reducing wait times, and improving care for patients.

Eappen runs a not-for-profit health care provider that includes six operating hospitals that serve more than a million patients across Vermont and northern New York. He has been in the position for a little over a year.
