The Pre-award office can assist individual investigators or research teams with custom funding searches, tailored to their research interests. The pre-award team can assist faculty with creating custom search accounts for Pivot and infoEd SPIN, the funding opportunity databases that UVM subscribes to. Using a combination of search strategies that include databases for funding opportunities and those for funded grants (e.g. NIH RePORT), the pre-award team can work with individual faculty members to create "submission roadmaps" that chart available and potential funding opportunities over a 1- to 2- year window. These initial funding searches can be scaled up to incorporate keyword-based recurring funding alerts.
Upon request, the pre-award team can monitor funding websites and LISTSERVs to provide targeted funding opportunity information to interested researchers. We are also available to provide training in search databases to administrative staff.
