Residents

The University and The University of Vermont Medical Center's Family Medicine Health Care Service support the only such residency program in Vermont, working with six residents per year in a three-year training program. Read more

Family Medicine Highlights:

Anja Jokela, MD received the University of Vermont Women and Gender Equity (WAGE) Center Award for Outstanding Faculty for her significant contributions to gender equity at UVM. (4/2023) 

Anthony Williams, MD received the Teaching Academy’s Outstanding Contribution Award. This award is intended to recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution to medical education either for a specific, short-term initiative or sustained contribution. Congratulations, Tony! (1/2023)

Clara Keegan, MD won the 2022 Graduate Medical Education Educator of the Year. This is an award provided by the UVM Health Network Medical Group. The award includes a grant to be applied to time for attendance at a clinical education program OR to time for preparation of a resident/fellow-specific learning module that would advance GME in the institution. Clara Keegan, MD was awarded the 2022 Family Physician of the Year by the Vermont Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Keegan is being honored for her ambassadorship for primary care, and her commitment to family planning and reproductive rights for all, making her a true leader by example. (11/2022)
