McMahon Proud of CVPH Gold Quality Award for Stroke, Press-Republican Reports

(OCTOBER 11, 2022) Michael McMahon, M.D., stroke medical director of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, was quoted in a Press-Republican article highlighting the hospital’s Gold quality achievement award for treating stroke.

(OCTOBER 11, 2022) The University of Vermont Health Network–Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) has received the American Heart Association’s Gold Get With The Guidelines® — Stroke quality achievement award. The hospital was the recipient for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.

CVPH also received the American Heart Association’s Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award. Target: Type 2 Diabetes aims to ensure patients with Type 2 Diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.

“I am incredibly proud of the hard work our stroke team has put in to get us to this point,” CVPH Stroke Medical Director Michael McMahon, M.D., clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine, said. “We have come a long way and will continue to strive to do the best we can for our stroke patients.”
