Patient Care & Clinical Services

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism has a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and certified diabetes educators (CDEs) who perform consultative and ongoing endocrine care for Vermonters and upstate New Yorkers. The largest portion of our clinical enterprise is delivering diabetes care to both inpatients and outpatients.

The division's ten-year designation as a Certified Diabetes Education Center has been renewed by the American Diabetes Association.

Emily Greenberger Receives Good Catch Award

Emily Greenberger, MD, submitted a SAFE report to UVMMC noting that the Epic dosing buttons for insulin could be misleading and did not clearly align with ADA recommendations.  Her SAFE report was reviewed by the Inpatient Glycemic Control Committee, chaired by Matthew Gilbert, MD, MPH, Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes and Director of Inpatient Diabetes at UVMMC.  As a result, changes have been made to align the order set with current evidence-based guidelines.
