    Cheung Wong, M.D., was invested as the inaugural Williams Professor at an investiture ceremony held June 8, 2018 at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.

    The Global Health Program at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and the Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) hosted "A Celebration of Global Health" at the College April 17 to 18, 2018.
  • Wong Named Associate VP for Clinical Affairs for UVM Health Network Medical Group
    Claude Deschamps, M.D., president and CEO of the University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group (UVMHN Medical Group) and senior associate dean for clinical affairs at the Larner College of Medicine has announced that Cheung Wong, MD, associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences, has accepted the role of associate vice president for clinical affairs for the UVM Health Network Medical Group.
  • Jones Comments on the Effects of Taking ADHD Medication While Pregnant
    The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recently raised concerns about the effects of prescribed attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication on unborn children. David Jones, M.D., director of the University of Vermont Medical Center Fetal Diagnostic Center, explains that while there is not much research on this topic, the risk of taking ADHD medication for women considering pregnancy is low.
  • Bonney Appointed to 5-Year Term on NICHD Board of Scientific Counselors
    Elizabeth Bonney, M.D., M.P.H., professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the UVM Larner College of Medicine, was appointed to a five-year term on the Board of Scientific Counselors for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Division of Intramural Research.
  • Celebrating Excellence in Research at the College – 2017 Achievements
    Vermont is among the top ten states in per capita research funding in the U.S., according to a State of Research at the College presentation delivered by Larner College of Medicine Senior Associate Dean for Research Gordon Jensen, M.D., Ph.D., at the Dean’s Excellence in Research Awards event held November 13, 2017. The last of three 2017 Celebrating Excellence in Research events held at the College on November 10 and 13, 2017, the awards ceremony recognized the accomplishments of faculty, residents, medical students, graduate students and postdoctoral trainees.
  • Nathan Finds Stress Management Training Benefits Health Care Professionals
    New interdisciplinary research conducted by University of Vermont researcher Jane Nathan, Ph.D., and colleagues, has found that the Benson Henry Institute’s (BHI) evidence-based Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) is a valuable model to use with health professionals to enhance their well-being.
  • George Till, M.D. named Leader of Generalist Division in OB/GYN
    Dr. George Till will assume responsibility for leading the Generalist division within the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive sciences. George will be replacing Dr. Elisabeth Wegner who has served admirably in this role since 2015 and has now chosen to return to her primary professional passion, providing the highest quality of clinical care to her patients.
  • Bernstein Presents University Scholar Lecture on Pregnancy & Preeclampsia Feb. 8
    The University of Vermont Graduate College will be hosting a University Scholar lecture by Ira M. Bernstein, M.D.'83, John Van Sicklen Maeck Professor and chair of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the Larner College of Medicine, on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in Waterman Memorial Lounge. Bernstein will be discussing “Pregnancy and Preeclampsia: Insights into Women’s Health.”
  • Teaching Academy Inducts New Members at Snow Season Education Retreat
    The newest members of the Teaching Academy at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont were inducted during a ceremony and dinner held January 5, 2017 that kicked off the Snow Season Education Retreat at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center.
  • Dixon among 2016 UVM Medical Group Excellence in Education and Research Awardees
    The 2016 University of Vermont (UVM) Medical Group awards for excellence in education and research – along with grants funding research in medicine and medical education – were presented at the practice’s annual holiday reception on December 13, 2016.

Our match results are in!  Announcing our newest residents 2018-2022:  Hayley Pierce (Saint Louis University); Allison Walker (Oregon Health & Science University) and Rebecca Zuckerman (University of Chicago).  We look forward to seeing them soon!

We are excited to welcome our new fellows on July 2, 2018 for their 3 year fellowship:  Maximilian Klein, MD (Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility fellow) and Ankita Kulkarni, MBBS (Maternal Fetal Medicine fellow)

Nathalie Feldman, M.D., Educator Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, was recently awarded (along with her colleague, Judy Lewis, MD in the Dept. of Psychiatry) the UVM Larner College of Medicine Teaching Academy's "Educational Scholarship Award" for her work on the learning environment.  

Jenna Flanagan, MD (PGY-3) will be presenting a poster "A Needs Assessment for Somali Women:  Optimizing this Populations' Peripartum Care in a Tertiary Care Center in Vermont" at the North American Refugee Health Conference, June 16-18, 2017 in Toronto, Canada.

Erin Morris, MD, received the 2017 APGO Excellence in Teaching Award.  Dr. Morris is an active clinical member of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine.  She currently serves as our Associate Ob/Gyn Clerkship Director and the Faculty mentor for the Ob/Gyn Student Interest Group. 

May 15, 2017 - Elise Everett, MD was presented the Clinical Teacher of the Year Award from the Class of 2017 during Honors Night.
