Biostatistics Consultation Program
The Department of Medicine Biostatistics Consultation Program started in 2016. The specific focus is to support junior faculty-led QI projects and resident/fellow QI projects that are mentored by faculty, with the goal of moving them to a scholarly product.
The Faculty member or faculty mentor will complete a brief, one page application.
- The applications will be reviewed by two faculty members.
- If approved, the application will be forwarded to Dr. Taka Ashikaga in Biostatistics and the project will be assigned to a member of the biostatistics group.
- The project team can then meet with the assigned biostatistician for an initial consult and follow-up meetings as needed.
Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis. Review of applications will begin on May 15, 2017 and continue until an estimated total of 100 biostatistics hours have been awarded. Applicants will be notified of a decision within four weeks of application.
Funded projects will be expected to result in submission of a manuscript to a peer reviewed journal. All faculty who receive support through this program and have not published previously will be encouraged to participate in a QI writing group.
