Colchester Research Facility

The Laboratory for Clinical Biochemistry Research (LCBR), working with UVM's Pathology Department, is just a short drive from UVM's main medical campus in Colchester, Vermont. The lab's focus is on understanding risk factors for heart disease, stroke, venous thrombosis, obesity, diabetes, aging, and frailty using a wide variety of assays in population and family-based research settings, particularly in the areas of coagulation, fibrinolysis, thrombosis, inflammation, and immune system function. These results are linked to animal model studies, especially research in murine atherosclerosis.
