The Larner College of Medicine Gender Equity Initiative in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion held the first event in the Gender Equity Education Series - "Town Hall: Gender Equity at the Larner College of Medicine" - on September 25, 2019.
The Larner College of Medicine Gender Equity Initiative in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion held the first event in the Gender Equity Education Series - "Town Hall: Gender Equity at the Larner College of Medicine" - on September 25, 2019 in the Sullivan Classroom, Medical Education Center. Roughly 65 people attended the event, which was moderated by Anne Dougherty, M.D., Gender Equity Liaison and assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences, and featured brief opening remarks by Dean Richard L. Page, M.D.
A special signatory ceremony, marking the UVM Larner College of Medicine's and College of Nursing and Health Sciences' commitment to the TIME'S UP Healthcare core statements to bring safety, equity, and dignity to our healthcare workplace, was held on September 27, in the Hoehl Gallery in the College of Medicine's Health Sciences Research Facility. Dozens of members of the College of Medicine and College of Nursing and Health Sciences communities witnessed and celebrated Deans Richard L. Page and Scott Thomas signing each school's respective signatory pledge letter.
Presented by the Office of Diversity & Inclusion at the UVM Larner College of Medicine, the event is the first of four in the Gender Equity Education Series, developed by the Gender Equity Steering Committee, which also include the following sessions:
