Medical Student Research Opportunities
Medical students interested in research are encouraged to review the list of ongoing research projects by EM faculty (see Faculty Research). Participation in a research project may result in authorship if the medical student meet ICMJE criteria. Students who wish to pursue their own project should identify a faculty mentor who can assist them in refining their research idea, writing the research protocol and obtaining IRB approval. Medical students who work with EM faculty on research projects enjoy the same access to clinical research support as EM residents (see Resident Research).
