Overview

The 2017 Eastern International Imaging Symposium is designed for the general radiologist and technologist covering diagnostic and interventional disciplines. The conference is jointly sponsored through the University of Vermont, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, McGill University and the Vermont Society of Radiologic Technologists, and will take place at The Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. The Stowe Mountain Lodge is a AAA Four Diamond Resort offering world class accommodations, dining and skiing in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont.

Objectives

This program has been tailored for an emphasis on clinical applicability designed with the practicing radiologist and technologist in mind.

At the conclusion of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Describe how to appropriately manage indeterminate pulmonary nodules, improve descriptors as well as differential diagnoses for CT findings of interstitial lung disease with emphasis on disease pattern recognition.
  • Identify "Do not miss" and "easy to miss" MSK cases.
  • Improve familiarity with MSK ultrasound and improve utilization.
  • Identify appropriate imaging workup and findings of common clinical presentations including tinnitus, hearing loss, female infertility and scrotal masses.
  • Describe and become comfortable with prostate and rectal staging MRI.
  • Identify applied MR physics techniques.
  • Describe how to best perform biopsies and drainages; identify what to order and look for on post intervention imaging.
  • Identify a practical approach to facial bone fractures, various bone tumors and vascular malformations within the brain.

Accreditation

The Robert Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont is accredited by the American Nurses Credential Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.

The University of Vermont designates this live activity for a maximum of 12 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

PLEASE NOTE: This activity is approved for a maximum of 11.5 hours of continuing education credit by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).

A block of beautifully appointed rooms has been reserved at the Stowe Mountain Lodge. Special discounted rates: $309 plus 10% state and local tax for single or double occupancy for studio accommodations. Suites are also available for an additional cost. There is a $15 daily parking charge. The conference syllabus will be available as an electronic download with presentations as PDF files. Please plan to bring your laptop or electronica device with you to the conference to both view the conference materials as well as to complete the online conference evaluations via the UVM CME credit system. You will receive an email notification (via the email you used to register for this conference) about a week prior to the conference start date that presentations will be available for downloading. Please note: Printed syllabus, paper copies of evaluations and paper CME certificates will no longer be provided.

Fees

  • $595 Physicians
  • $225 Technologists
  • $225       Residents (verification of residency status required)

This fee includes all course materials, breakfasts, coffee breaks each day and the reception on Saturday evening. Add $75 late fee after January 10, 2017.

Refunds, less a $75 administrative fee, are available if cancellation is received in writing by January 10, 2017.  No refunds are possible after that date.
