Concept

This intensive four-day program (with optional pre-conference full-day workshop) for family physicians, advance practice providers, nurses, and other primary care professionals will focus on current issues in the practice of Family Medicine, with special attention to new contributions. Emphasis is on practical, clinically applicable diagnostic and management issues in primary care.

Pre-Conference Workshop, June 3, 2024

"Mastering Early Goals of Care Conversations"

We believe that empathic, honest conversations are cornerstones of patient- and family-centered care. Research shows that patients who speak with their clinicians about their goals and values are more likely to receive the care they want, have fewer non-beneficial medical treatments, spend fewer days in hospitals and intensive care units, and report a better quality of life.

Take part in this full-day, safe, small group pre-conference workshop. Participants will be able to practice realistic conversations with simulated patients trained in this skill. The workshop registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch and meeting supplies, and is open to in-person registrants only. Minimum enrollment: 14 ~ Maximum enrollment: 20.

Guts Cover

Guts: A Graphic Novel

Dr. Dickerson will be speaking on “Anxiety Disorders in Children and Adolescents” during Vermont Day (Thursday).

While Guts offers a rich narrative about a young person with anxiety, it can be read relatively quickly.  It's written primarily for a young audience and Dr. Dickerson often shares it with children and their families. He encourages attendees to purchase and read the book prior to the conference.
