Beware of Unauthorized Registration and Hotel Solicitations

Please be cautious of any messages coming from sources not affiliated with UVM Continuing Medical and Interprofessional Education.

Several unauthorized companies are reaching out to attendees and exhibitors of the 33rd Annual Easter Winter Dermatology Conference via email and phone.  These companies are offering to assist with conference registration, hotel reservations, and other services such as mailing list sales for upcoming conferences.

A few of these companies have set up websites to suggest they are associated with the conference and may even go so far as to have false titles in their email signatures.  To avoid these scammers, please be aware of the red flags.

  • The site includes a disclaimer in small print toward the bottom of the page, stating they are not associated with the 33rd Annual Winter Dermatology Conference.
  • They may ask you to share your login and password.
  • They may include a surcharge to register.
  • They may ask you to pay via PayPal.
  • They may claim to offer discounted hotel rates.
  • You may be called to verify that you've received the proper rates for hotels, and attempts are made to sell you a different hote.

Please be sure to only register using the links on our webpages or call 802-656-8407 to register by phone.  Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions at 802-656-2292.
