Overview
Dear Colleagues,
I cordially invite you to our Northern New England Neurological Society annual meeting which will take place at The Essex, in Essex Junction, Vermont. As always, the meeting will be a unique opportunity to meet neurologists and neuroscientists new to our society as we visit the beautiful Champlain Valley of Vermont. The curriculum will cover a wide variety of current topics in clinical neurology and in neurological research. New this year, we have organized a hands-on workshop which will provide those registered with an opportunity to practice botulinum toxin injections on patient simulators. Friday night will feature a dinner in downtown Burlington at Hotel Vermont. I hope you will consider joining us for this informal night of networking and enjoying sights in Burlington.

Physicians and other members of the Northern New England Neurological Society (NNENS), past and present neurology residents, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other neuroscience professionals. You do not need to be a NNENS member to attend.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:
- Describe potential treatments for associated comorbidities in patients with epilepsy.
- Assess the role of systems neuroscience in the development of novel therapies for epilepsy.
- Discuss diagnostic difficulties in MS and new diagnostic approaches.
- Describe how animal models in MS inform understanding of clinical disease.
- Discuss the side effects of treatments for myasthenia gravis and how these effects can be quantified.
- Compare novel treatments for neuromuscular disease.
- Describe appropriate use of botulinum toxin for neuromuscular disease in children and adults.
- Provide an update on new treatments for headache in children and adults.
- Discuss the development and implementation of a telestroke service.
- Become familiar with injection techniques used to deliver botulinum toxin.
- Support ongoing improvement of the regional organization of neurological care in Northern New England.
Accreditation
The University of Vermont College of Medicine is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing medical education for the healthcare team.
The University of Vermont designates this live activity for a maximum of 11 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This program has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 9.5 Nursing Contact Hours.
Determination of Pharmacotherapeutic credit is pending.

Please indicate your participation in this course to obtain our discounted rate of $159 per night (single or double occupancy) plus Vermont State tax. Room rates cannot be guaranteed after September 20. Accommodations sell out quickly in this entire region due to the popular foliage season. PLEASE RESERVE EARLY.
