Auto Travel

From Interstate 89 (I-89) - use Exit 14W (west) to approach the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. At the stoplight at the end of the ramp stay in your right lane. At the second stop light turn right on to East Avenue. At the next stop light turn left on to Carrigan Drive (there is a sign that says The University of Vermont Medical Center with University of Vermont in smaller letters underneath). At the next light turn right and continue down Beaumont Avenue. To park, continue straight down Beaumont Avenue until you see The University of Vermont Medical Center Parking Garage on your right.

From Route 7-North (Shelburne Road) - follow signs to 189 North (toward St. Albans). This road will merge with Interstate 89. Use Exit 14W (west) to approach the University of Vermont College of Medicine. At the second stop light turn right on to East Avenue. At the stoplight turn left on to Carrigan Drive (there is a sign that says The University of Vermont Medical Center with University of Vermont in smaller letters underneath). To park, continue straight down Beaumont Avenue until you see The University of Vermont Medical Center Parking Garage on your right.

From the Adirondack Northway (I-87) Take Exit 20. Proceed north on Route 9 to Route 149, headed to Fort Ann, N.Y. In Fort Ann, take Route 4 North to Route 22A in Vermont. Follow Route 22A through Vergennes, then follow Route 7 North into Burlington. Turn right onto Main Street (Route 2 East).  Go uphill through several lights and stay in right lane.  For East Avenue, turn right and follow signs. Once on East Avenue, turn left onto Carrigan Drive. (there is a sign that says The University of Vermont Medical Center with University of Vermont in smaller letters underneath). At the next light turn right and continue down Beaumont Avenue. To park, continue straight down Beaumont Avenue until you see The University of Vermont Medical Center Parking Garage on your right.  
 


Air Travel

Burlington International Airport services the northern part of the state.

Six airlines service the Burlington International Airport:

Taxis are readily available and the Larner College of Medicine is an approximate 20-minute ride from the airport. The fare from the airport to UVM is approximately $20.


Train

The Essex Junction train station, approximately 8 miles from campus, is  served by Amtrak, which connects major cities across the U.S. For  schedule and reservation information, call 1-800-872-7245. www.amtrak.com


Bus Lines

Connections to the Vermont Transit depot on Pine Street in Burlington (1 mile from  campus) are available through Greyhound from all major U.S. cities,  including New York City, Boston, Albany, and Montreal, Canada.  Departures to these cities are available on an average of twice daily.  Special student rates are offered. Connections are also available from Boston and New York through Megabus which  arrives and departs twice a day on the UVM campus. For more information  call (1-800-462-6342). www.megabus.com

Directions to the Office of Admissions from the UVM Medical Center Hospital parking garage: 

gallery18Take the elevator to the 3rd floor, which is in the lobby of the hospital.  Walk outside through the revolving doors.  The Robert Larner, M.D. Medical Education Center is directly across from this entrance of the hospital.  Enter this building and follow the signs to the Admissions Office located in Given Courtyard South.

Directions to the Office of Admissions from East Avenue: 

The Larner College of Medicine is located within the Given Building at 149 Beaumont Avenue (GPS 89 Beaumont Avenue).  Enter the Given Building through the Health Science Research Facility (HSRF) entrance.  Take the steps down to the first floor and walk straight ahead.  This will be the Given Building.  Continue walking down the hallway.  The Office of Admissions is in the glass-walled building immediately on the right.

Parking

Admissions4Due to construction, parking on campus is extremely limited.  Check with your hotel for possible shuttle or taxi voucher service.  If you intend to drive, please park in the University of Vermont Medical Center (hospital) parking garage.  The cost will be $7.50 for the day.  DO NOT PARK in designated areas for disabled, fire access zones or restricted University parking areas--especially Zone 1.  Your car may be towed or ticketed, and fines are substantial.
