Policy 2540.40


Policy Statement


Clinical level students enrolled in the Clerkship Level curriculum level during the COVID-19 pandemic in academic years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 must adhere to Policy 540.40 – Grading: Clerkship Level with the following amendments:

  1. The NBME subject exam and/or the clerkship exam is pass/fail. The exam score will not be used to determine a threshold for a grade of Honors.
  2. The clinical skills examinations will be limited to a maximum of three cases in order to meet the learning objectives, as well as the public health recommendations for physical distancing.
  3. The clinical skills examination will be formative (ungraded). It will not be used to determine the final grade for a clerkship rotation.
  4. Clerkships will be graded Pass/Fail. There will be no final grade of Honors for students in these cohorts.
