Dr. First Writes about ADHD in Adirondack Daily Enterprise Column

(SEPTEMBER 9, 2023) Lewis First, M.D., M.S., professor and chair of pediatrics at the Larner College of Medicine and division chief of pediatrics at the UVM Children’s Hospital, wrote about ADHD facts and myths in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.

(SEPTEMBER 9, 2023) In his recent column in the (Saranac Lake, New York) Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Lewis First, M.D., M.S., professor and chair of pediatrics at the Larner College of Medicine and division chief of pediatrics at the UVM Children’s Hospital, focused on ADHD facts and myths.

Dr. First touched on several concerns parents may have about whether or not their child has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, including when signs of ADHD appear, video games, the hard work of focus, and myths surrounding parenting style and diagnosis.

“The more you know about the facts, rather than the fiction regarding ADHD,” First wrote, “the more you can help your child with this problem lead a very productive and rewarding life.”
