Call for Proposals: 2024 Health Equity Summit

Discover and share exciting initiatives at the third annual Health Equity Summit, Building Solidarity: Sustainable Pathways Towards Health Equity. The Summit is a collaboration between community members, healthcare providers and educators to dismantle institutional barriers to health and enhance patient experiences.

Dates: Monday, October 7, 4 - 6 pm: Poster presentations and kickoff reception

Tuesday, October 8, 8 am - 5 pm: Workshops and sessions

Location: Double Tree Hotel, 870 Williston Road, South Burlington, VT 05403 (Google Maps)

Becker’s Hospital Review Reports #4 Diversity Ranking for Larner

(JULY 23, 2024) The Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont was ranked number 4 in U.S. News & World Report’s ranking of the top 10 most diverse medical and osteopathic schools, according to Becker’s Hospital Review. The annual medical school rankings and ratings were released July 23, 2024.

Inaugural Geriatrics Fellow Transitions to Attending Physician: Owen Maguire, M.D.

The Division of Geriatric Medicine celebrated the graduation of its first geriatrics fellow, Owen Maguire, M.D., and the culmination of the division’s academic goal to train geriatricians. The geriatrics fellowship at UVM is a new fellowship and a big step in the building of a pipeline to care for older adults in Vermont, which has the fourth-oldest population in the country.
Public Health Project Group Receives 2024 Excellence in Public Health Award

A Public Health Project conducted by a group of Larner College of Medicine Class of 2025 medical students was selected by the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Physician Professional Advisory Committee to receive a 2023 Excellence in Public Health Award.
