Early Career Highlight!

Debora Kamin Mukaz, PhD, Early Career Advisory Committee member, was awarded 1st place as a Postdoctoral Scholar for her NERIC Lightning Talk presentation "D-dimer and the Risk of Hypertension: The Reasons for Geographic and Racial Differences in Stroke (REGARDS)".  The virtual North East Regional IDeA Conference was held in August 2021.

  • Phil Ades, MD Receives Distinguished Mentor Award
    On Friday, June 11, 2021, Phil Ades, MD, associate director of VCBH and director of cardiac rehabilitation in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the UVM Medical Center, received the UVM Larner College of Medicine's Department of Medicine’s Distinguished Mentor Award.
  • Warshaw Honored as University Distinguished Professor
    University of Vermont Provost and Senior Vice President Patty Prelock has announced that David Warshaw, Ph.D., professor and chair of molecular physiology and biophysics at the UVM Larner College of Medicine, is a 2021 recipient of the University Distinguished Professor Award – the highest academic honor that UVM can bestow upon a member of the faculty.

Internal Grant or Biosketch Review

CVRI provides internal review of grant applications and biosketches to support cardiovascular research. E-mail CVRI for more information.  *NOTE: The request for internal review must be made at least 6 weeks before the submission deadline. Please include the funding mechanism to which you are applying for.

CVRI Travel Awards

CVRI travel awards are available to support trainees and junior investigators presenting abstracts at regional and national scientific meetings.  These competitive awards are for reimbursement of presentation-related expenses of up to $2,000 and offered on a limited rolling basis throughout the academic calendar year; more details can be found on the application for funding.
