Maternal/Child Nurse Managers from regional community hospitals meet quarterly to discuss various topics related to perinatal care. The specific topics are decided upon with input from nurse managers. Guest speakers are invited to add topic-specific content.

Topics include best practice guidelines, local issues, community standards and trends, perinatal statistics and quality improvement. During the interactive meeting, procedure and policy templates are shared as well as ideas for overcoming challenges and barriers to optimal maternal and newborn outcomes. These ongoing collaborations facilitate peer support and communication between meetings.

Nurse Managers meet quarterly and meetings typically run for 4 hours. Contact Hours are available for nurses attending the meetings.
