JUST ANNOUNCED: Rolling Admissions for Teaching Academy Protégé Members

The Teaching Academy is pleased to announce that Protégé application submissions will now be reviewed on a rolling basis. Those accepted will be welcomed into the Academy outside of the regular Spring and Fall review process.

Essentials of Teaching and Assessment CourseA one-day, intensive course to introduce participants to the pedagogy, strategies, and resources for effective teaching and assessment. This event is open to all UVM Larner College of Medicine faculty. This course is designed especially for faculty, residents, fellows, graduate students, and postdocs who are new or returning to teaching. There is no fee to attend.   • Honoring Excellence in Medical Education

    Each January, the Larner community gathers for the Teaching Academy’s Snow Season Education Retreat, an annual event lifting up the work of our medical education community and honoring outstanding educators among our faculty and leaders. Highlights of the two-day event include the Teaching Academy Induction and Award Ceremony, a plenary session, an in-person poster session, workshops, and oral abstract presentations. This year’s retreat was held January 17–19.
  • Larner Representatives Attend Medical Education Millennium Conference

    The Larner College of Medicine was one of eight medical schools selected to participate in the 2023 Millennium Conference from May 2-4, hosted by the Carl J. Shapiro Institute for Education and Research at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Five Larner representatives attended the event, which focused on professionalism for physicians.
