New Teaching Academy Membership Levels!

The Teaching Academy recently made some changes to its membership levels. The Protégé member level is now Associate Member and encompasses early career faculty as well as residents/fellows/postdocs. In addition to this shift in our entry membership level, Master Teacher level is now Expert Teacher. Visit the Teaching Academy website for details.

Teaching Academy Curriculum Development and Educational Scholarship Award
The Teaching Academy will present an award, up to $10,000, to fund projects that foster innovation and improvement in teaching, learning, and educational scholarship. Visit the Teaching Academy website for eligibility and details. Teaching Academy Travel Award
The Teaching Academy will award up to two travel awards, up to $1000 each, to support member travel to present educational scholarship or attend professional development events related to the mission of the Teaching Academy. Visit the Teaching Academy website for eligibility and details. Register for IDEAS webinar series on disability representation, inclusion in academic medicine

Join the AAMC throughout April for a four-part webinar series where leaders in the disability community from across the medical education and research continuum will discuss approaches to increase the representation and inclusion of people with disabilities in academic medicine. Attendees will gain key information on utilizing their institution’s disability resource office and come away with strategies to support equitable access and inclusion for students and faculty with disabilities across medicine and science. The first webinar will take place on April 2 and is part of the AAMC IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-racism) Learning Series, which provides actionable information about diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies that members of the academic medicine community can put into practice.  Register Now

Regional/National Call for Proposals

2024 ChangeMedEd Equity, Diversity and Belonging (EDB) Grant Program

The AMA is pleased to announce a request for applications for its 2024 ChangeMedEd Equity, Diversity and Belonging (EDB) Grant Program. To advance equity within U.S. medical schools, the EDB team in the AMA’s Medical Education department is developing a multi-institutional EDB Grant Program. Grantees will create and form the EDB learning community and work alongside subject matter experts to move the medical education system toward a more equitable and accessible education experience. Continuous quality improvement (CQI) and medical education share a foundation centered on learning, experiencing, reflecting, thinking, and acting in continuous cycles that spiral to sustained advancement. This session will identify the role of CQI in medical education and relate the work of the LCOM CQI Committee to teaching and learning. Participants will also work during the session to develop a CQI approach for a hypothetical scenario.

Lunch is provided.
