(FEBRUARY 9, 2023) Erica Gibson, M.D., associate professor of pediatrics and division chief of adolescent medicine, and OBGYN resident Mackenzie Delzer, M.D., commented to NBC5 on a bill that would make reproductive procedures and gender-affirming services legally protected in Vermont.

(FEBRUARY 9, 2023) Erica Gibson, M.D., associate professor of pediatrics and division chief of adolescent medicine, and obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences resident Mackenzie Delzer, M.D., commented to NBC5 on a bill that would make reproductive procedures and gender-affirming services legally protected in Vermont.

“At this time in a mounting crisis of child and adolescent mental health care, it is essential that care for gender diverse youth and their families are protected,” Gibson said.

Delzer noted, “This bill would allow us the ease of being able to do that without worrying about legal ramifications or the medical malpractice that might be associated with that, and just simply providing evidence-based medicine.”
