I am pleased to announce that beginning July 1, 2017 Dr. George Till will assume responsibility for leading the Generalist division within the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive sciences. George will be replacing Dr. Elisabeth Wegner who has served admirably in this role since 2015 and has now chosen to return to her primary professional passion,  providing the highest quality of clinical care to her patients.

While we all know George from his long career in our community let me highlight some of his accomplishments.

George received his undergraduate degree from Haverford College followed by medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He did his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco and served in the National Health Service Core, in St Louis, for 3 years following completion of his residency. George has been in Vermont since 1991, initially in private practice with Champlain Ob/Gyn  and since 2010 as a member of the full time faculty at the rank of Associate Professor. George has been an active public servant serving on the Chittenden East School Board for 16 years and also as a state legislator, serving in the Vermont house, an elected position he currently holds. George has been recognized for his excellence in medical student teaching several times and has been the director of the Departmental Quality Assessment and Improvement Committee and the Departmental Credentials committee since 2011.

George will continue with his work leading the Women QA+I and Credentials committees as well as his clinical responsibilities as a nighttime hospitalist as he assumes the directorship of the Generalist division.
