The Physically Handicapped Children's Program (PHCP) is state funded program that
helps families pay for medical care for children, ages 0 to 21, with severe long term health problems. Services available include: medical evaluations, consultations, and diagnostic procedures for children who are suspected of having a physically handicapping condition or chronic illness; hospitals and doctor care, medications, equipment, and other health related needs. Sources of payment include Medicaid, insurance, state aid, and
parental contributions. The PHCP is also available for case management help in assessing, planning, and coordinating services to meet the needs of child and family.
