Your child may qualify for Medicaid coverage even if your financial earnings exceed the monetary limits, and even if you have a primary insurance provider (eg. through your employer). The "Katie Beckett" Program Application is a special Medicaid program for children with a disability whose parents do not qualify for regular Medicaid because their earnings exceed the limits. This coverage is only for the disabled child and can be used as a secondary insurance -- covering what the primary will not cover. This program doesn't take into consideration the financial situation of the parents or child. Ask your caseworker about this program, or call the Health access Office to obtain an application for Medicaid Disability benefits. (Note: Be sure to ask to speak with a welfare supervisor because the Katie Beckett Program/application is not known to all welfare workers). If you do not have a primary insurance, your child may qualify for Dr. Dynasaur Health Insurance Program.
