http://www.yoursurgery.com/p_shunt.html

This website provides a basic description of what is involved in the placement of a shunt for treatment of hydrocephalus. The information includes the anatomy and pathology of hydrocephalus, procedure complications, and the recovery process of shunt surgery. You can also look up other types of surgeries. This website may answer some of your questions, however it does not replace your neurosurgeon's and doctor's knowledge. It's important to always ask your neurosurgeon or doctor about the specific treatment and management of your child's hydrocephalus and address all of your questions to them.
