Abstracts and Awards

Oral Presentation Awards
(Submission deadline EXTENDED to Monday 4/12/2021)

Trainees (students, post docs, fellows) and Junior Investigators are encouraged to submit abstracts to be considered for oral presentation awards that will be selected through a blinded review process.

Outstanding Abstract Achievement Presentation Awards will be awarded to the top abstracts. In addition to a 15-minute speaking slot, winners will receive free conference registration.

Abstracts not selected for oral presentation will be automatically considered for poster presentation (see below). 

Women-Minority-Those With Disability: Two of the oral presentation awards will be presented to women-minority-persons with disability. The submission form will provide an opportunity to indicate whether this qualification applies.

Poster Presentation/Awards
(Submission form has been re-opened until June 14, 2021.)

Conference Registrants of all types are encouraged to submit an abstract to be considered for poster presentation. Two thematic poster sessions will be judged during the conference. 

Submitters of abstracts approved for poster presentation will be notified of session assignment and poster display number a few weeks before the conference. The recommended poster size is 3'x5'. Poster boards and pushpins will be available.

Two poster awards*, one in each session, will be decided based on a competitive scoring process at the conference.

Two Elevator Pitch awards* will be awarded based on the competition during the conference. See information about the Elevator Pitch competition.

* Consideration of awards in the poster presentation and elevator pitch competitions is limited to junior investigators / trainees who have not already been selected for an Outstanding Abstract Achievement Presentation Award.

Abstract Submission

Abstracts will be submitted via an online submission form and must have no more than 250 words, including headings. The abstract submission form has been reopened for poster abstracts until June 14, 2021.
