I cordially invite you to our Northern New England Neurological Society annual meeting which will take place at The Stoweflake Hotel in Stowe, Vermont. As always, the meeting will be a unique opportunity to meet neurologists and neuroscientists new to our society. This year the conference will take place in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. The curriculum will cover a wide variety of current topics in clinical neurology and in neurological research. Friday night will feature a dinner where we can socialize and enjoy the area. I hope you will consider joining us for this informal night of networking. Please be sure to encourage any residents to contact me if they would like to present during the resident research section.

Physicians and other members of the Northern New England Neurological Society (NNENS), past and present neurology residents, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other neuroscience professionals. You do not need to be a NNENS member to attend.

Program Goals

At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe potential treatments for associated comorbidities in patients with epilepsy.
  2. Assess the role of systems neuroscience in the development of novel therapies for neurological disease.
  3. Discuss new advances in neuro‐ophthalmology.
  4. Evaluate approaches to palliative care in children with neurological disease.
  5. Evaluate recent literature of therapeutic approaches to adolescent headache.
  6. Discuss new approaches to stroke therapy including those that are invasive.
  7. Discuss emotional processing in neurological disease.
  8. Support ongoing improvement of the regional organization of neurological care in Northern New England.


Jointly Accredited Provider TMIn support of improving patient care, The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The University of Vermont designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This program has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 9.5 Nursing Contact Hours.

This conference includes 1 credit in Prescribing Controlled Substances and 1 credit in Hospice, Palliative Care and Pain Management.

Determination of Pharmacotherapeutic credit pending.

Please indicate your participation in this course to obtain our discounted rate of $195 per night (single or double occupancy) plus Vermont State Tax. Room rate expires on September 18. Accommodations sell out quickly in this entire region during this time of year. PLEASE RESERVE EARLY.

The conference syllabus will be available as electronic download with presentations as PDF files. For an additional $25, you can purchase the syllabus on a flashdrive. Please bring your laptop/electronic device to view presentations as well as to complete the electronic conference evaluations. You will receive a notification via email prior to the conference start date with instructions for accessing the presentations. Printed syllabus, paper evaluations, and paper certificates will no longer be available.

This fee includes online course materials, continental breakfasts, breaks and lunch on Friday. 

Dinner:  The dinner on Friday night will take place at the Stoweflake Hotel. Attendees and their guests are welcome to attend. Tickets are $45 per person.

Refund: Refunds, minus an administrative fee of $75, will be made only if notice of cancellation is received, in writing, by October 1, 2017.  No refunds are possible after that date.
