University of Vermont Health Network - Medical Group Research and Education Committee Announces Funding Opportunities

On behalf of the UVM Health Network Medical Group Research and Education Committee, we want to announce three exciting funding opportunities that have been made possible through the generous support of the UHC Trust, for our Educational Scholarship Award, and the UVMHN Medical Group, for our Research Award and our new Innovations in Clinical Care Award.

Grant proposals are due by 5pm, September 15, 2017.

Educational Scholarship Award:  One $25,000 award to better understand learners, educational processes, or the outcomes associated with educational interventions.

Research Award:  Two $50,000 awards to determine the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regimens.

Innovations in Clinical Care Award:  Two $50,000 awards to accelerate the development of innovative approaches within the clinical care continuum including service, patient engagement and clinical interaction, as well as broader system or process designs.

The Research & Education Committee is highly motivated to assist applicants in submitting outstanding proposals.  Accordingly, we have two programs designed to assist in your application process:

Submit a Letter of Intent (Mandatory)

The R&E Committee requires the submission of a one-page letter of intent by 5pm, August 4, 2017.

If committee members determine that assistance is required in refining the grant submission, they will request a meeting with grant applicants to review research aims and assist with development of the grant.

More information is included in the RFPs.

Receive Grant-Writing Assistance

The committee provided grant writing workshops for early-career researchers that would like to learn more about the grant process.  The workshops will take place on:

  • Research with Charlie Irvin, PhD
August 28, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in Davis Auditorium
